Rapella Jr.
"The biggest challenge in the industry is bringing together the right bull and the right cow, those two animals whose genetics just work together"... and what happens if you get it right?
With great excitement, we can announce that Rapella Jr. measures an astonishing 58 6/8". He has an average growth of 2/8" per month for the last 12 months, and according to statistics, he stands a chance to exceed 60".
Rapella Jr, a Rapella grandson, is showing what the Crown vision is all about. With his exceptional tip length and symmetrical tip-to-tip spread, he has completely blown us away with his prepotency in horn length. Being the first in the use of our next-generation bulls, we already have proof on foot of his calves showing typical traits of remarkable horn lengths - long, smooth tips with
wide ring spacing.

World Record Bull
Damascus
The name that changed the industry’s perception of length. We count ourselves tremendously privileged to have been caretakers of this record braking giant for the 8 1/2 years of his life. His death is an enormous loss to the whole industry. His name will live on. His legacy will reign in genetics.
Damascus' sire was the well-known Rapella 52 4/8+", and his dam was a 33 2/8" cow from Tswalu. He had the genetics of the most well-known Matetsi line, and the diversity of his maternal line is what was needed to cause that genetic spark that broke records.
With intensive, well-planned breeding, we are succeeding in our goal to breed animals with optimal horn length and fertility. We are excited to see our current breeding program's results since both these bulls' progeny is guaranteed to take sable breeding to the next level. We are already seeing some very exciting developments...
